My professional presentation was completed at a local homeschooling information workshop titled “FYI: Homeschool”. The workshop was located at my local library and was an informal session. It was set up as a vendor event with booths that attendees could visit to learn more about a topic or ask questions. I manned a booth that provided information about UDL and how it can be used in the homeschool setting. I created a flyer to handout to attendees with UDL information and contact information.

I chose this event because it is relevant to my future goal of wanting to create a homeschool co-op or microschool. I am planning to create the curriculum using my knowledge from this program. This event allowed me to spread information about how to be successful with homeschooling if you are wanting to try something different than public school.
This event allowed be to meet other parents and families interested in homeschool and make connections that will be useful in the future. This type of event is not my normal setting and although I was nervous, the whole event ran very smoothly and gave me confidence to do another event similar to this in the future.
